Where the money goes

Here are some of the ways we spent the money

  • £20,000 for Against Breast Cancer (research at University College London).
  • £20,000 small grants award scheme for homeless people.
  • £5,000 to the National Theatre for subsidised tickets for children from schools in deprived areas.
  • £5,000 to the Tate Gallery for purchase of work by (young) living artists.
  • £3,500 for village libraries in India
  • £2,500 to the English National Opera education department for work with primary schools
  • £2,000 to build lavatories for the women's wards in a hospital in Malawi.
  • £1,000 for a library for a school in Malawi
  • £500 towards a helpline for Oesophageal Cancer Patients.
  • £250 to help with special clothing for disabled people.
  • £200 towards conductive education treatment of children suffering from cerebral palsy.
  • Peace & Reconciliation - summer play schemes for Arab and Jewish children in Israel, and Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland.
